Building on my PhD topic around human-computer interaction with adaptable and adaptive systems in digital health, throughout my different workstreams I continue investigations into 1) how to do good interaction design for - and 2) what it means to be living and working with - “systems that change”. Machine learning and artificial intelligence enable great advances, but are often involved in decision making or action taking without proper consideration around their inherently difficult or impossible to predict outputs.
Work on this topic area and some original thoughts and concepts are currently best summarized in a mini online lecture series on “Flexible Human-AI Interaction” that was held at the Interdisciplinary College (IK) 2022.
