This video shows a summary of various student’s projects displayed at the TROIA pixel room in Bremen, Germany in 2006. The projects are the results of a class called “Live SDI”, which took place at the HfK Bremen (University of Fine Arts) in 2005 / 2006.
They are experiments with light, sound, emotion, ambience and space, meant to be more than mere video displays, creating an animated room. The walls contain real LED pixels, which makes a difference from normal video projectors. If all lights are turned off, the room turns pitch black. All lights on is increadibly bright. The room has a refresh-rate of 50 Hz, so the impression of the live-performance was quite intense.
